For $20 you can buy a collection of 50 fonts. They were designed to be used in Lovecraftian plays, but many are from old telegraphs and maps which have potential to be used in many non mythos documents. Check it out at here.

Lovecraft was a known Ichthyophobic. I have to say, I’m no scholar of Lovecraft but i don’t get it either.
