I've not actually used this service yet, but I have to admit it sounds tempting. It's called "Earth Class Mail" and what happens is that you have your mail forwarded to one of their centers throughout the United States, they scan your mail, and then you can access its contents via the internet. They give you the options of recycling junk mail, shredding important things, and I think they'll even scan the envelopes first and give you the choice whether or not you want them to open it for you. Obviously there is some security risk since you're kinda doing this on trust, but it saves Mom a whole lot of trouble at the same time. Check it out at
